 Treatment

 suitable for

Description

Dermabrasion

superficial imperfections

Abrasive treatment by diamond milling (sometimes several sessions are recommended).

Laser Resurfacing

superficial scars

Smoothing of the skin using the CO2- or the Erbium Laser.

Medical peel

soft scars

Superficial peeling, in the most cases by use of special acids.  (repeated sessions are indicated).

Punch

small but deep scars

There are three different techniques: 1)Punch Transplant, the same procedure as for hair transplant, using a special punch: The scar will be replaced with a new skin graft. 2)Excision: With the punch the scar tissue is removed. The wound is closed and can heal. 3)Punch Elevation: With the punch the scar is elevated to the level of the surrounding skin.

Excision

for most types of scars

A version of the punch technique.  (In most cases several sessions are necessary).

Injectable fillers

large and deep scars

The result is temporary limited. The treatment must be repeated from time to time.

To consider

·      The question of which acne treatment is ideal is quite individual and must be decided on a case by case basis. Consult with the dermatologist to which treatment is best for you.

·      Often it is necessary to combine different treatments in order to optimize the final result: for example, an excision with an injective treatment can be performed together.

·      Note: Active acne scars may not be treated with the laser.
